Catching up on life :)

Life has been kinda busy for me the past couple weeks!! I thought I'd do a quick update...and since I have an iphone now I have quite a few pics even though they aren't the best quality at least you can get an idea of what I've been up to.

A few weeks ago I flew up to IL to visit my best ever friend Danielle, we had a blast together and I loved getting to see her and my favorite little boy ever, Layton. He is just way too cute!!

Needless to say I loved my visit up there and can't wait to see them again!!

Oh and yes it SNOWED while I was up there, lol I wasn't quite prepared for that, but it was pretty cool since I didn't have to go out and do chores in it. :)

Once back home I had about a million things planned....getting caught up on work and mostly getting the goats bred, I had about 5 of them ready to breed just a few days after arriving home, and since I'm doing mostly artifical insemination (don't get grossed out, it's just goats!!) it was quite the job! I get to use a lot of new genetics that way, and have access to really high dollar animals that I wouldn't be able to breed to otherwise. So here's hoping I can get quite a few of them settled!!

And then it was time for the whole family to pack up and head to Dickinson Texas to visit family for Thanksgiving, we had quite the adventure, including car difficulties and some people getting sick...but we managed to have a blast anyway. I'm so blessed with such a wonderful family!

We also took my two inside dogs Duffy and Dooley, and then my Aunt Tami had her 3 dogs, so Nana and Pops house was quite full with 5 dogs and a whole bunch of people, it was awesome. :)

Lol having fun with my cousin Hannah. :)

It was great to see Caleb and Kristen, so glad they got to fly in from MD! I think Kristen passed the test with all of our family, they loved her. :)

Documenting all the desserts ;)

Stayed up late and played our all time favorite card game, Canasta.

Had fun with my adorable little cousin Ty, he's so cute!

We headed home on Saturday, driving back with Uncle Jerry, and Aunt Tami. It was raining solid for about the 1st two hours and Anna's car was having some major difficulties with the steering locking up. Not the best thing when you are driving on the highway through Houston with lots of traffic. However Elijah thought it would be "fine" and we kept going. That is until the battery light came on and said the charge system wasn't working correctly. So we decided to get off at that point and went to a Chevy dealership who thankfully after about an hour of waiting was able to get it fixed by putting a moisture/rain guard on because supposedly the rain was getting on the belt and causing the steering to slip.

Thankfully we made it back home without anymore troubles!!

And I guess that's it for now, I'll leave ya with a updated pic of Russell, he's growing up fast. :)

Hmm, maybe now that I have an iphone I'll have to join my Mom (www.weloveyoujoel.blogspot.com) with her Instafriday thingy. ;) We'll see!!

Hope everybody had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Russell :)

Well I did it again...I got ANOTHER dog. I wasn't planning to, it sort of just happened...like this. Last Saturday morning I loaded up a few goats I was culling out to take to the sale barn. When I got there I had to wait in line for about an hour, apparently everybody is downsizing their herds or something because of hay shortages. Anyway while I was waiting there I noticed a really cute, fluffy, black and white puppy in a crate in the back of a pickup truck. An older man was standing close by so I complimented him on what a cute dog he had, and he informed me that it was a dual registered Australian shepherd and he was for sale. Oh boy, I immediately knew I wanted him...however once he named the price and I thought over the fact that I really didn't need another dog..I pretty much convinced myself not to get him. But like I said the line was really long so I sat there and kept thinking about it and couldn't stop looking at that cute puppy. I texted my sister Anna and told her that there was a really cute Aussie for sale...and her reply was "buy him!" Hmm...I then texted my Mom and just randomly said there was a really cute puppy for sale. Her reply wasn't too negative so I figured out a way to come up with the money and made a deal on him. :) Texted my Mom back and said "I bought it!" :D

I made a blog post! :)

Hey Folks! Well as you probably can tell blogging has not been my thing lately! Or rather I've just been loving SUMMER as it's my favorite season of the year- maybe when winter comes around and I'm bored or something I'll get back into the blogging thing. ;)

However I thought I'd at least take the fall leaves off of my background...even though it's almost fall already...goodness time flies! So here's a happy summer color theme for as long as I can enjoy it. :)

Life has been busy, blessed and wonderful these days. My summer has consisted of, lots of volleyball, friends, swimming, visiting my bestest friend Danielle in IL, working on the farm, hanging out with my family, playing on the lake, going back to IL to be with Danielle and her husband for the birth of their baby boy Layton (definitely a highlight of the year!), going to a Texas Rangers baseball game, realizing everybody in our family is growing up, going to Six Flags for the first time, and well soooo many other things but hey I can't remember everything. :)

Farm life has been great, I've downsized my herd a little, trying to focus on quality not quantity and also because of the extreme dryness this year which makes hay really expensive. I'm excited to fly out my first goat ever to Ohio in a week...hopefully everything goes smoothly with that. :) I also had a lady buy one in New Mexico which was pretty cool. Today I have the AG teacher from Stillwater coming to buy a Boer wether and another lady coming to look at a Nubian doe kid so hopefully I'll make some sales.

Time to get to work now, blessings to everybody!
