Not much...

Well, I haven't posted a general update for a while...so I guess it's about time. :) I've been greatly enjoying the nice weather this week, (nice in my opinion is sunny and at least 90 degrees). :P

I haven't had a whole lot going on, just life...and then starting school back up. My job is helping a certain brother with his math, it sure can be challenging at times. :) We've had a little project going where we each drew a name of a person in our family and are to be committed to praying for that person this week. Well there's been a few times when I've been like "whoever has this person, might want to be praying for him!" :D But actually he is doing much better this year than last, thankfully. :)

August has flew by so quickly it seems, and September looks to be a month full of goat shows. :) I'm looking forward to that, the first one is the OK State Fair, I'll be showing my Nubian kids that I had shipped in back in the spring for the first time, as well as some Boers. Those little Nubian's are something else though when trying to get them to stand still...hopefully by working with them a little bit each day they'll get the idea by the time the show gets here. :)

I've been having fun "trying" to learn how to ride a unicycle...but unfortunately it's not going too well. :( All I do is crash..*sigh* but maybe one of these days I'll get it figured out. I am able to go about 20 feet instead of 2 though so I guess that's a bit of improvement. :) Yesterday was pretty funny, usually I can land on my feet pretty well when I lose my balance...but wow yesterday, I like TOTALLY wiped out. :D Quite funny, thankfully I haven't hurt myself too bad...yet. :)

We had 100 little baby chicks come in the mail this morning, they are so little and cute!

That's all for now folks,

Okay....now for the fun stuff....some fun facts about my dear friend here. :)

1. Danielle is SO afraid of bugs....like REALLY scared of them.

2. She is an expert goat milker...after some practice and me having to actually HOLD her hand on there, I guess the first touch was a bit scary. :)

3. She is a big time flip flop girl...wore them year round once.

4. She has a GORGEOUS pair of black mud boots with white polka dots, quite the country girl.

5. She loves any animal that is sick or hurt...they are always so cute to her.

6. She is really good at photography!

7. She loves playing volleyball...you should see her overhand serves! Talk about HOT!! ( )

8. She can do 2 french braids on her OWN hair, and it turns out looking great! Well, with a little help from us holding pieces. :) Cute!

9. Me and her both consider our selves maybe just "semi" retarded. :D

10. AND these pictures should prove that she has QUITE the personality!! :) I could go on, but I'd better stop because it all depends....she might would get embarrassed.

Here is "Dannie"

"Mistina"

"Geraldine the violinist"

And finally, "Danielle Marie Moody"

But...by now I'm afraid she is probably doing this at the computer screen....

So I'll clarify...this is just the fun side of Danielle...on the serious side she is a beautiful caring young lady. Always ready to serve in any way she can, loves Jesus with all her heart and is a very dear friend to me. I love you so much Dannie, hope you have a very blessed 20th birthday!

Rain

There's just not a lot going on today....it's raining outside and just seems rather gloomy. It's just one of those days that I seem to get depressed from just looking out the window. Not a hint of sunshine, just rainy, damp and univiting. Makes me wish for a beautiful, warm and sunny day. But the thing is, everything had gotten rather dry from so many beautiful sunny days. The grass was dying and the plants in the garden looked rather wilted. They needed the rain, God's refreshing rain from above that gives the grass new life, something to draw strength from. So as I sit here looking out the window, it doesn't look very pretty right now, but I know that when the sun starts shining again, tomorrow, two days from now, or whenever that may be, that everything is going to be greener. The grass is going to grow, and the plants in the garden will grow stronger and produce more fruit.

As I sit here thinking about all of this....I think that perhaps that is the way it is with us as Christians. It's a beautiful day in our lives, the sun is
shining...everything is just going well. And then a storm comes, maybe it's just a light rain, something thats just inconvienent, but then it may be a thunderstorm, the sky is dark, the thunder crashes and the rain is coming down in torrents. The trial is hard and it feels like the rain is beating us down. We almost begin to lose hope in the midst of the storm. We must keep our eyes focused on Christ, and when the storm passes, and the clouds begin to lift, we'll pick up the branches that were broken by the wind. It may seem by just looking around us that nothing good could come out of this hardship, our leaves are scattered on the ground and it's hard to pick ourselves up and continue on. But by God's grace we can, and as the days go by, and we continue to trust in our Sovreign Lord, we look around us and see the sun is shining again , the grass is greener, and there is new growth on the trees. We finally begin to realize that though the storm was hard, God is working something beautiful in our lives through it.
And so with strengthened faith we continue on....and by God's grace we can thank him for the rain.
